*Position Overview*

The Board of Trustees of the St. Mary’s Community Public Library seeks an
experienced, visionary leader for our next Library Director.

As Director, you will provide strategic leadership for the organization
while serving as a visible and engaged leader within the community. The
successful candidate will foster strong relationships with staff, patrons,
community organizations, local government, and other stakeholders, ensuring
the library continues to meet the evolving needs of those it serves.

This is a *full-time position* offering a competitive salary and an
excellent benefits package. The Director is responsible for the overall
management of the library and its *staff of 17 employees*.



*Required Qualifications*

·         *Education:* Master of Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an
ALA-accredited program.

·         *Experience:* Minimum of 4 years of library experience with
progressive levels of responsibility.

·         *Management:* Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

·         *Schedule:* Ability to work flexible hours, including some day,
evening, and weekend hours.

·         *Logistics:* Access to reliable transportation.

The library is a proud member of the Serving Every Ohioan (SEO) library
consortium, a branch of the State Library of Ohio using the OPLIN network.
SEO supports a centralized shared catalog database of over 8.1 million
items, serving nearly one million users with an annual circulation of over
15 million.

St. Marys, Ohio is a historic canal town located on the Buckeye Trail with
a population of 8,400. It is a welcoming, rural community with a
small-industry base, situated within easy driving distance of Ft. Wayne,
Lima, Columbus, Dayton, and Toledo.
