As far as I know there really isn't one package that does all of those
things. You will need to buy a few different ones at quite a cost. What are
you trying to accomplish?
I find it amazing that libraries continue to try to do whatever they can to
make it difficult for their patron to use their equipment and get the
information they need. Are you planning on charging them for internet use
also? I've always felt that is our job is to provide patrons easy yet secure
and open access to resources at all times.
As far as locking down the desktop this can all be done via Windows policies
and profiles or setting the browser as the shell.
You might want to look at Public Web Browser which is a version of IE
rewritten for libraries with extra utilities at:
http://teamsoftware.bizland.com/
They do have a solution that resets the workstation on preset intervals.
If you make the browser the shell then that is all the Patron will be able
to access, instructions are on their site on how to do this.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Access Management Software
I am trying to find a good software package for our library that will do
at least the following:
* Patron authentication
* Timed Internet Access
* Lock down the workstation desktop
I have spoken with the folks at Comprise about their product SAM. I was
wondering whether any of you could recommend some other packages that
you have used and like.
Thanks,
