Sounds like they got a new profile and all of their settings are in their
old profile. Log onto the machine as admin, right click on My Computer and
choose properties. Click on the User profiles tab. Highlight the old profile
if it shows up in the list and copy it to the new profile. The other way to
do it would be to go to the documents and settings folder and copy all the
folders over to the new profile from the old one. If the old one is gone
you can restore from backup presuming you have one. Note the user can't be
logged on when you do this and you probably should reboot it first before
you start and logon is admin first so that the users profile is not cached
or loaded in the registry.
Good Luck,

As a follow up to my request for email recovery, does anyone have any
suggestions for recovering all account settings on for a user on a machine
that has been rejoined to a domain? Are there some simple steps I should
know about? I tried to use the "netdom" utility, but had only limited
success. It worked for one machine out of the 5 or so I tried.
Unfortunately, it didn't work on the Branch Manager's machine, which is
where the "lost" email is.
