[OPLINTECH] Circle the Date!

The OPLIN Stakeholder meeting is October 29.    Invitation and registration
information will be mailed in Mid September.  

 

This year's keynote speaker will be George Needham, Vice President for
Member Services OCLC.   Like many of you we have questions about the
future-and we realize that, in many ways, the future is now.   The world
around us continues to undergo profound change, and libraries - and OPLIN --
have a continual need to adjust to those changes.   

 

Questions are many.

How does the network need to expand or change in order to meet library
needs?

How can OPLIN do it cost effectively?

We have more electronic content than ever.  Are we keeping up as a
percentage of what is available or are we losing ground?

How will federated searching impact delivery of services?

How is the new generation of ILSs impacting network traffic, and how will it
impact planning?

What do users want, and how do they want it delivered?

 

We look forward to presenting the state of OPLIN and our window on the
future.  We look forward to your input and our always lively discussions.

 

Circle the date now!

 

Also watch for the annual Award for Innovation.  Who is trying interesting
and innovative services made possible by the network?  Nominate your
creative colleagues for recognition at Stakeholder's.
