Network Services Customer Update - January 16, 2004
Re-Scheduled Maintenance:
The following maintenance has been rescheduled for January 27, 3:00 - 6=
:00
a.m.=A0 The software upgrade will take place at the Rhodes State Office=
Tower
only; not at both SOCC and Rhodes as indicated in the original
announcement.=A0 The scope of the outage is therefore reduced as indica=
ted
below.
Original Announcement:
Tuesday, January 20, 3:00 - 6:00 a.m.
ITSD network engineers will be upgrading software on ITSD Enterprise co=
re
routers at the State of Ohio Computer Center and Rhodes State Office To=
wer.
This work will affect connectivity from all ITSD customers to all
mainframes and servers in the ITSD Enterprise environment. Connectivit=
y
between ITSD desktops, mainframes and servers within the environment, w=
ill
be affected as well. The actual duration of the outage will be up to t=
he
full maintenance window. This software upgrade is necessary to correct=
minor bugs in the router software as well as add new functionality.
Revised Announcement:
Tuesday, January 27, 3:00 - 6:00 a.m.
ITSD network engineers will be upgrading software on an ITSD Enterprise=
core router at the Rhodes State Office Tower.=A0 All ITSD internal cust=
omers
served from this router will lose connectivity.=A0 Connectivity for ITS=

internal processes between SOCC and Rhodes will be affected as well.=A0=
The
actual duration of the outage is expected to be one hour, but may last =
as
long as the full maintenance window.=A0 This software upgrade is necess=
ary to
correct minor bugs in the router software as well as add new functional=
ity.
Completed Maintenance:
Tuesday, January 13, 3:00 - 6:00 a.m.
ITSD network engineers made minor routing configuration changes on two
Internet border routers to accommodate a new BGP customer.
Quest Communications unfolded fiber between the State of Ohio Computer
Center and the Rhodes State Office Tower.
