Attention Ohio librarians -

Please be aware that there is a dangerous new e-mail worm spreading across the Internet. It's called Zotob.B and several Ohio libraries have already been hit with it. To help prevent the worm from spreading to other libraries, the OPLIN Support Center is requesting that you please update the Windows operating system, as well as any virus protection software, on every networked computer in your building.

Effective immediately, the OPLIN Support Center will begin blocking any offending IP addresses, as per the OPLIN Good Neighbor Policy. You can read about this policy at http://www.oplin.org/page.php?Id=62-5-335-1263-954.

For additional information on the Zotob.B worm, go to http://isc.sans.org/index.php or http://symantec.com/ .

And as always, if you have any questions, please contact the OPLIN Support Center.

Thank you,
