Jim
We use Altiris Deployment solution here at CCPL and have for about 8 years now very successfully.
With HP (and I think dell can offer it) when you buy a PC you get one image license for Altiris.

http://www.altiris.com

You only have to buy licenses for systems that you are going to leave the Altiris client on to manage the unit.
(lets you shadow and push out updates) Otherwise you needn't purchase anything but the initial product.

You can download a free working demo from altiris and check it out and I would be happy to offer any tips or assistance you need in getting it going. You could even stop out some day since you are so close and have a look at how we are using it if your like. The hardest part is getting the boot CD going. But ghost is the same way.

The other great altiris product I love that I have mentioned here is Altiris Protect. It is a simple lock down product like goback that restores a system to the same state by simply logging off and back on.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Imagining software

We're looking for an imaging software solution. So far, we've looked into Ghost and ImageCast. We're a little confused about how many licenses we need to purchase. Do we really need to purchase a license for EVERY computer that we have (90+)? What are the odds that we will have to image or restore every computer on our network? If we only have ten different builds of computers, i.e Dell270's, Dell 280's, generic brand X, generic brand Y, ect... could we get away with only purchasing ten licenses? How do other sites handle this issue? Please respond.
