OPLIN Tech:
First, thanks to everyone who provided some insight.
Here is a brief list of results submitted to my question regarding
e-mail programs and SPAM control.
I had several people mention the use of Mozilla's Thunderbird e-mail
program using its filters. One person suggested Outlook 2003 using its
filters and one person suggested Netscape using its filters.
I will say that I did run across a site suggested by NORWELD,
www.techsoup.org <http://www.techsoup.org>. They are giving away free
spam control software during their annual Stop Spam Today campaing in
December. The address is
http://www.techsoup.org/stock/spam/default.asp.
<http://www.techsoup.org/stock/spam/default.asp> I may check this out
myself.
Here are some other notes:
1. For our patrons we use Mercury Mail(free) on a workstation.

I've compiled some good spam information links on my website I maintain
about it at http://www.spamguerilla.com
2. As for a mail server, we set up a Windows-based server called M-Daemon
from alt-n technologies
3. We use Surf Control for our spam filtering. We've been happy with it.
Their reporting capability isn't
that great but that is supposedly going to improve in future releases.
