Jeff
We have used flat panels on our OPACs since 2000, and on PCReservation
since 2002 with no problems. My only advice is to get micro fiber
cleaning cloth or an LCD cleaning kit...no Mr. Clean magic sponge for
your LCD monitors.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Patrons and Flat Panel screens
Hi all,
I wanted to pose a few questions. Since Flat Panel screens are becoming
common in libraries, I wondered how libraries are handling patrons (or
even
staff) touching the surface of these screens. I have always been told
not
to touch these screens. But, looking at our CRT's, touching computer
monitor screens is very common. We are in the process of replacing 20
computers, all the new ones have flat panels. How are you handling the
situation? Have you had any screens damaged because of people touching
them?
Thanks,
Jeff Franklin
