Mike,
We have a Motion Computing tablet here at Holmes and we have tested just
hooking up a USB based scanner for those times we need it for scanning.
We use HHP 3800s, but I'm sure that other USB scanners will work as
well.
The scanner is not wireless itself, but it does plug in and run off the
tablet just fine. We've never fully tested running time on battery, but
I would hope that it give at least an hour or so.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [OPLINLIST] Wireless Barcode Scanner for Library Inventory
Tabletand Software
OPLIN Libraries:
The London Public Library is using a Gateway PC tablet and Polaris'
Inventory Manager software to work with our collection. We want to have
a wireless barcode scanner to go along with the tablet for easy and
mobile scanning. Our goal is to scan on the fly and not have to dock
the scanner to upload the data. We are looking for possible scanner
solutions - do you have a recommendation?
Thanks,
Mike Hensel
