If you've looked yet at the new WebJunction Ohio
(http://oh.webjunction.org/) you may have noticed that there are four
more classes scheduled on using the Ohio Web Library search
(http://ohioweblibrary.org), two in the morning on August 13 and two
in the afternoon on August 27. These classes will be hosted by Jay
Burton from the State Library.
To register for these classes, go to the WebJunction Ohio events
calendar at http://host6.evanced.info/ohio/evanced/eventcalendar.asp
and click on the class you wish to attend.
These classes will be using the new Wimba web-based learning tool,
rather than the Webex tool used in the past. (For those of you who use
a Mac rather than a PC, you'll be happy to know that Wimba works well
on a Mac.) Wimba uses Voice over IP rather than a telephone bridge for
voice communications, so if you want to be able to speak yourself, you
will need a microphone, but this is not required. There is a chat
feature that is used by those without a microphone.
After registering you will receive a confirmation by email. This
confirmation will include a link to the Online Classroom. If you click
on this link any time before the class starts, a Setup Wizard will
start to check your computer and ensure you have the software and
configuration you need to see and hear the presentation. Allow 10
minutes for this process. (Do this at any time before attending your
first online class -- you won't need to do it again.)
Hope you can join us!
