[OPLINTECH] Delayed Printing on Star Receipt Printer

Hello,
We at the Cuyahoga Falls Library have recently purchased and installed 2
newer model Star Receipt printers at our Circulation desk. The model is a
TSP650 connected to workstations with a parallel cable connection. There
is a delay before these 2 new units start printing and after scanning item
bar codes. This delay slows down the activities of our circ desk
employees routine when checking out patrons. We also have a couple older
units which are TSP600s are set up the same way, but start printing
immediately. This has been distracting our circ desk personnel quite a
bit. I installed the latest drivers, and have contacted Star tech support
who thinks we either need to connect via USB cable instead or replace the
parallel cable. I replaced the parallel with a new supplied cable which
did not make a difference.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, have you found a way to resolve
this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
