Laura Solomon, OPLIN: Web 2.0: An Overview for the Layperson
. "There's a lot of buzz around Web 2.0 and the online services that have
been labeled as such. What are Flickr, del.icio.us, and RSS, and what can
they do for your library? Is your library missing the boat or avoiding the
hype? Get the low-down on these and other aspects of Web 2.0 in terms that
don't require a techie translator."

. Instant Messaging Reference Services: "This session will show users how
they can start their own IM reference services, or how they might enhance
their existing service. The session will cover staffing, training, technical

introduce the applications of blogs, wikis, and RSS in a library setting.
Various online blog and wiki services will be introduced. Demonstration of

Express your personality, use it as a business tool, for personal branding,
or let it bring more readers to your blog. This is a great and easy to

. Wikis in Libraries: "This session will demonstrate how wikis can be used
in the library setting. The session will highlight personal experiences and
reflections on using wikis for over three years. Topics include technology,
staffing, and lessons learned." Chad Boeninger, Ohio University

Meebo. Twitter. Del.icio.us. Wiki. Skype. It may sound like strange martian
gibberish but it's the language of Web 2.0 and these days, everyone is
speaking it. Fortunately, learning how to use these online tools to enhance
your library's services is probably much easier than you would expect.
Attend this conference and learn how libraries can harness the creative
power of web 2.0 applications to reach patrons in ways never before
possible. You don't need to be a "techie" to attend this event, anyone in
charge of implementing or coordinating library services will come away with
many new and exciting ideas!
