Also check to see that you have not set c:\ to be hidden. That will stop
them in their tracks too. We set our pcs up with a d:\documents, & set that
folder as the My Documents folder. I also check to see that Office/OO.org,
and any other programs, set that as the default location for saving files. I
have a batch file that deletes d:\documents*.* then recreates it when a user
logs on. That way, all previous files that the user created are deleted
before anyone else can see them.

Check the properties of the desktop folder in the users profile and make
sure that it is not set to read only.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Allowing users to save to the desktop
I am using Windows Steady State and there is a setting under windows
restrictions that will prevent users from saving to the desktop. I have this
setting disabled, however, patrons still cannot save to the desktop. These
computers are not part of the domain so I checked gpedit.msc and nothing is
configured prevent patrons from saving to the desktop. Does anyone know of a
registry edit that will allow patrons to save to the desktop?
Thanks in advance,
