My notes on 3 ways to use the live DVD.
Did the first 2 in Vmware
For the second I made a vmware dummy workstation that did PXE
Started the third, but didn't test the PXE or finish configuration yet.
The Live DVD contains KIWI-LTSP server that can be enabled even by
non-technical users, with tons of applications from openSUSE Education
repository.
For a demo or actual use.
The DVD may be immediately booted in a networked PC.
Boot the PC from the hard disk again for normal operation.
KIWI-LTSP server demo and testing purpose only (Not for production use).
With the KIWI-LTSP server you can PXE(network) boot other PCs to use
this live DVD.
Use a networked PC with a second NIC connected ONLY to a hub (or switch)
and 1 to 5 PC's capable of PXE booting.
(For 1 PC only, it may be connected using just a cross-over cable)
Boot the Live DVD in the networked PC, Follow the LTSP/Quick Start guide
In Step1 configure the second NIC. Skip step 2 Complete steps 3 & 4.
PC PXE boot logins are "linux1 - linux5" with password "linux"
After testing is complete, boot the PC's from hard disk again for normal
operation.
Production environment.
Install openSUSE-Edu Li-f-e from the Live DVD to a dedicated PC, add new
users configure, etc.
Requirements include a second NIC to dedicated PC's capable of PXE
booting. (Similar to demo method)
