[OPLINTECH] gateway warranty

We had a server fail (hardware) on 12/30. The next day I found that my
e-mails had gone unanswered and tried their website to no avail. I then
tried contacting our account rep's extension & was kicked immediately out to
their "please hold" (so the rep is gone) where I stayed for 20 minutes (& I
was dumb enough to try it twice). That afternoon I found a story on the net
saying that MPC had told the governor of Idaho (MPC's home state) that they
were going to liquidate it's assets and close the doors. Last week, after I
got the domain going again, I called Gateway in an attempt to get a live
person to fill me in on what was happening. That turned out to be
impossible. When I called, the phone system required the computer ID number.
It told me that the commercial division had been purchased by MPC and hung
up on me. Sounds to me that even though their logo is on the box, they have
washed their hands of the products sold by MPC in their name. As far as I'm
concerned, that's a BAD business model. I don't care if they fix this server
or not at this point. I will not buy anything else from Gateway. The big
problem is I have 40 pcs and another server bought from them in the last 18
months with no warranty support.

  If any of you hear anything about this, please post it back to the list
for the rest of us.

We have this problem too. I e-mailed there support which is now
warranytinfo at mpccorp.com The information I got out of them is nothing is
happening until after they re-organize in chapter 11. So in other words even
a good warranty isn't much good right now.

Has anyone had any luck contacting Gateway/MPC support?  I have machines
still under warranty but all of my e-mails have been returned and I keep
getting a message about bankruptcy when calling.
