Just for future reference here are the ways to avoid disaster:

1. Buy from someone who has been in business under the same name and
same ownership for at least 10 years.
2. Buy computer parts that are Industry Standard. 100% compatible with
other Industry Standard over the counter replacements from any computer
store. (Name Brand internal parts, ASUS, Seagate, MSI, Intel, etc.)
3. Make sure the Windows COA does NOT have a OEM name on it.

Reasons behind this:
1. Any company that has been bought and sold will probably be bought
and sold again or go bankrupt again. The old saying was 5 years for a
business to make a profit or survive. Since 9-11 that is probably better
thought of as 10 years.

2. Parts that are 100% compatible are easy to replace should the
company go under. Example of this are the new Dells that from the back
side are mirror images of Industry Standard computers. Once they break
and the warranty is gone, then throw them away.

3. If it has an OEM name on the COA you will find at least 50% of the
time the Windows will not reactivate or can never be used again should
the computer need repaired or upgraded. When checking it against
Microsoft's web site, Microsoft will claim the number is illegal and
require a $200 fix fee.) Not buying a real Microsoft CD/DVD is always
"pay now or pay worst later."
