[OPLINTECH] Networked Printers

Hi Eric,

We don't use AD or anything else like that to manage our printers for
our 80 or so computers. For network printers, we just add a port on
each computer that's going to use the printer. For shared local
printers, I have a script on every computer that adds the shared printer
near that computer (if any - the script is all commented out on some
computers) and makes it the default printer; this is just for staff; the
script is a logon script in a staff group policy.

We're going to start using CASSIE for public print management soon.
Also, we're going to start allowing staff from some departments to print
to our networked Toshiba color copier, which has its own software for
tracking use by department and logging each print job (username and
filename or URL).
