In the For What It's Worth Department

Tripp-Lite
Extremely simple warranty return website.
Life-time warranty, at least on some items.
Very little time required to complete the process and with correct 
wording 2 emails.
1 received stating the surge protector is shipping.
1 sent as a thank you
4 or 5 different claims were handled quickly and easily in 7 ~ 10 days each.
No cost to us, for under $50 surge protector boxes.

IBM (Lenova)
Excellent service (at least through June 2009).
1 or 2 fast answered telephone calls per claim.
5 to 7 days, start to finish, no cost, except some time.
Same great service 6 or 7 times for different warranty claims.
Hard drive immediately shipped ~ prepaid.
Return boxes immediately provided for depot laptop repair.

Seagate     Finished claim today
27 days for a simple hard drive warranty claim.
40 minutes waiting for Tech Support ~ never answered.
Many RMA updates and emails
Needed to obtain special return packing.
Had to return bad item before they would send replacement.
Shipping costs and a lot of aggravation.
