Hi Amy,
If you have ever used Windows Terminal Services,(rdp protocol) you have
used a "version" of Windows Multipoint Server, because that is what it
is based on. That can be even verified by doing some extrapolating from
the last item in the FAQ at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/multipoint/faq.aspx
Licensing is similar to terminal services even. You buy the windows
server client license and a special multipoint license for each user.
On a decent sized server you can expect to get at least 40-60 users if
necessary. (at least 4 gb ram, dual proc)
Microsoft just made terminal services into a renamed bundled product for
academic use. There is also a company called Ncomputing out there
http://www.ncomputing.com/ that offers a client server type of solution
that is similar to this scenario.

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but has anyone considered
or is using this at their library? I am interested in hearing any
experiences and what it costs.
Thanks!
