[OPLINTECH] Such a deal ! Disquettes 90mm

Ah... Reverse Compatibility. Are there any initiatives in the state to help
design and maintain reasonable access to antiquated media formats and
readers? For example, we have a lawyer who uses our library frequently who
complained about not being able to open a WordPerfect document on a state
server of legal documents. I checked OpenOffice and GoogleDocs, and neither
were of assistance in this case.

Perhaps one of the following should qualify as archaic:

Clevite-Brush magnetic disk player (language lab circa 1950s)

wire recorder dictation unit.

Lantern slide projector

Magic lantern projector (kerosene lamp)

Picture postcard projector (early form of opaque projector)

ahh!... for the good old days...

-snirk-

What, no 8" floppies left there, Bob? Or, are you hoarding them for
your
own private museum?

(this coming from the guy who has an XT with 11 mb HD in his garage,
and a
14" disk-platter from a Sperry-Univac in his attic)

... which kinda begs the question... what *is* the most archaic
equipment
anyone has, either in-use or squirreled away someday pending a
Prehistoric
PC auction on eBay?
