[OPLINTECH] need help with a project

Stephen,
I do not see why they could not set up a server in their front room that
has a wireless receiver to access your Wi-Fi and then physically network the
computers in the other two offices to the server and piggyback that way. I'm
not exactly sure how it could be done as my knowledge of networking is
limited to knowing what an IP address is, but I think that it should be. If
they set the server up with DHCP (as opposed to static IP), that would be no
different than someone using their laptop in the parking lot of your
library. If you require that people sign into your Wifi before they use it,
then someone at the historical society would need to keep an active card and
sign the server into the Wifi with every use.
If they need to obtain a server and they have 501 c3 status, they always
could obtain one at lower cost through TechSoup.
Good luck.

The North Baltimore Library is directly across Main Street from the North
Baltimore Area Historical Society. We would like to allow them to piggyback
on our Internet the 1 day a week they are open.
We have tried to set up a wireless router (TP Link TL-WR841N) in the front
window of the Library and password protect it. They receive a very weak
signal in the upstairs office of the Historical House but no signal in the
downstairs office which is located in the rear of the house.
There is a weak to moderate signal in the front room right at the front
window.
They cannot move the office to the front room for several reasons.
Is there some way to pick up this signal at the front window and either
transmit it wirelessly or via cable to the rear of the house to their
office?
I am in the middle of this mess and up to my neck. Can anyone give me some
advice? If your advice in spoken in Techish, I will need it translated to
English. ;o)
Help! They won't go away! I need a miracle here!
Thanks!
