We have the same all in ones for staff and patron use--Lenovo M73z I think they are calling this model now. They have 3Ghz Pentium processors, 4G RAM, and Win7 64-bit. Look good and more than powerful enough for the single/double-threaded work they do-I was happy to save the money that going with such an ancient processor design enabled. The computer's stalk is large and so allows for a wide range of horizontal and vertical adjustment, which has proved useful. We have only had them since last winter, so the jury is still out on durability, but so far so good.

Fred,
I have purchased nothing but All in Ones for the last 4 years (well with the exception of laptops for a lab). I have gotten several different HP models, using the "best bang for the buck" model. They all have 4 gig of memory and are 64 bit machines. I have not spent more than $750 on any of them. The only issues that I have had are one failed DVD drive and 2 fans. The fans can be a pain to change out but the DVD was very easy. I currently have about 60 of them deployed in 4 locations. The major advantage to me is the space savings. I no longer have to put computers on the floor where they suck in dust bunnies, have water run under them, or patrons kick them. Because of that our patrons have more leg room too.

We're looking at upgrading some of our staff computers at a local branch and was wondering what a lot of the IT administrators for their libraries are putting in place. I'm mauling over the idea of using all-in-one computers since it seems desktop will be getting phased out in the next few years. Any ideas?
Many Thanks,
