[OPLINTECH] 3D printing and scanning services

We are preparing to set this up. I just talked to a library in Iowa that has a 3D printer in use. They said most of the use is coming from students or inventors.

With prices that continue to fall and capabilities that continue to improve I am thinking of adding both 3D printing and 3D scanning capabilities for our public users within the next 6 months.  Is anyone in library land already providing this?  If so what type of use are you seeing and are you charging anything to cover cost of the printing materials?  Anyone else sitting on the fence thinking about jumping into this area?
