We are moving our intranet to Office365/Sharepoint in the cloud, joining our email and knowledgebase there.   We can have all these functions on one platform that way.

We find WordPress a good solution. Subdomain, password protect, on library webserver. Post equipment manuals, room reservation calendar, procedures, howto's, etc.

Is anyone out there using a web portal for staff communications?  We would like to create a means for communicating timely information to all staff members which can sometimes be hard to do with the varying schedules.  Ideally, it would be something where staff can log in and check as they have time to keep up to date.  Using staff email distribution lists did not work for us.  So to those of you who have a web portal, do you run it off of your existing web site as a log-in section for staff or use some other software?  I am open to suggestions and, as always, am concerned with security measures.
