[OPLINTECH] recomendation for a webhosting company

Hi Randy,

Avoid MyHosting.com. We have had numerous problems with them. They have a very odd control panel. It is a constant roundabout battle with their file permission system and our Joomla site. They are also the only hosting company I have ever dealt where I have file ownership problems. I’m contacting their tech support monthly to change ownership on the files to my account.

Bluehost.com is great. We use them for our Trumbull Memories project and we are going to be moving our new website to them once we are done designing it.  We spent a few bucks more and signed up for their Site Backup Pro which keeps a monthly, weekly and daily site backup automatically on their server which can easily be restored. We also use Akeeba backup to perform regular site backups.

We are currently upgrading our site to Joomla 3.4.

I've used a number of hosting companies over the years, like bluehost, dreamhost, and godaddy. My first recommendation is Godaddy due to the stellar customer service. They will not let you off the phone until every question is answered. GoDaddy has a new linux hosting system. It's very easy to use. It can be configured to automatically back up Joomla or Drupal. I use them on 3 site. In the next few months, I will have at least 2 more on GoDaddy servers.
