Not quite answering your question but.
Ours is wide open but if you have a specific question, I might be able to answer 
it, or try it here.
But I will be gone most of next week

We use an virtual openSUSE (linux) server for internal use only.
It is fairly safe, with shortcuts on staff PC's for access.
Patron PC's would need the ip and the rest of the URL to find it.

Runs IWordPress blog,   eTicket,  MediaWIKI
and previousy   Summer Reading Club,  Patron Event Registration
etc.
Wordpress requires an account to post

MediaWiki does not require logins
We have the WikiSysop account which set up the main pages
Editing is wide open but  logs the PC IP, if we ever needed to trace an edit.

Only 2 or 3 of us ever make any changes
Been running since July 2007
3 updates back so probably will update soon.
