Hi Travis,
We disabled it in browsers last year and haven't had any complains.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Java on Public PCs
Greetings Techies,
With the latest installation of public computers, I opted to not install Java. Security is always a concern with Java. The way browsers handle outdated versions also make it a pain to manage. Chrome outright disallows the use of Java (at all) as of September 1, 2015 (along with other NPAPI plugins).
Has anyone else removed it from public machines? How was the response?
