OPLIN outage from 5:15pm to 8:34pm on 2016-11-11 caused by dead 10G card in
the OPLIN core.

All,

Starting at 5:15pm on Friday 2016-11-11 the majority of the OPLIN network
started experiencing severely degraded internet connectivity. The culprit
was a new 10 port 10G card which was installed back in August. The card was
found in an unresponsive state which did not clear with a power cycle, so
to remedy we remapped all of the circuits onto backup 10G hardware,
restoring service at 8:34pm.

On the up side, the OPLIN board recently approved a hardware purchase which
will create a redundant OPLIN core. The two cores tied together in a
virtual chassis will make single points of failure like this a thing of the
past.
