[OPLINTECH] Ohio Web Library resources renewed.

Through a partnership titled Libraries Connect Ohio, OhioLINK, INFOhio,
OPLIN, and the State Library negotiate five-year contracts with database
vendors. These are the resources available to your patrons through the Ohio
Web Library website.



I’m pleased to let you know that the funding is available for this, the
fifth and final year of the current contracts. This means that the
resources available in the Ohio Web Library should not change until the
next five-year contracts begin in July 2018. As you will recall, this has
not always been the case in previous years, so I wanted to allay any
concerns you may have.



To select the statewide databases for the next five years, starting July 1
2018, OPLIN, INFOhio, and OhioLINK will soon appoint librarians to a joint
database advisory committee, joined by one person appointed by the State
Library. This committee will review proposals received and make selections.
Be sure to stay tuned for updates as this process moves forward.
