[OPLINTECH] OCRI Events This Fall

The Ohio Cyber Range Institute is a collaboration between State government
and higher education to offer a virtual training environment to improve
cybersecurity awareness and skills of Ohioans at all levels, from K-12
through professional development. The OCRI offers remote access to
curricula and virtual machines to instructors and students in schools,
clubs, libraries, and other entities. If you would like to learn more, and

Here are some free events and classes available this fall:

3rd Annual Cybersecurity Education Symposium

October 13, 9 am -  3 pm, online
Learn more about everything OCRI in this virtual online event. Hear from
other agencies providing free cybersecurity education in Ohio, and how you
can access those resources for your library. *Registration closes October
7.*

Cybersecurity Bootcamp

October 25 - November 21, 2021  - online
This free, month-long online course prepares adult students with
entry-level technical skills to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification
exam. The course includes asynchronous instruction, virtual lab
environment, student discussion and instructor support. The Bootcamp is
free to Ohio residents, and a voucher for the Security+ exam is included.

Networking Bootcamp

October 25 - November 21, 2021  - online
This free, month-long online course prepares adult students with
entry-level technical skills to pass the CompTIA Network+ certification.
The course includes asynchronous instruction, virtual lab environment,

October 13, 3:30 pm online
John Wiseman of the Ohio Department of Education will host one-hour
webinars each month to introduce the educational resources available
through Regional Programming Centers. RPCs are colleges and universities
around Ohio who partner with OCRI to provide security training in their
area. You may find some great partners in your library's part of the state
who are able to host events either online or in your library. Webinars will
be available to view live and recordings will be posted online.
