[OPLINTECH] FW: EXTERNAL: Re: Suggestions for phone systems

I found this email in the forwarded box of my predecessor and have since joined this list. I am looking for suggestions for this as well and was wondering if there were any other solutions mentioned in this thread. I have a similar size dated Avaya ip500 system that is starting to show its age and I think it will need to be replaced sooner rather than later.

Thank you,

Amy,

You might be interested in talking with Vision Concept Technologies. Whenever any of the libraries I work with is ready for a new phone system (or security camera system, network cabling, etc.), I try to toss Vision's hat into the ring. They're a local company based out of Sunbury, OH not too far from you. They're not a huge faceless company, so I've had the opportunity to work with and get to know quite a few of their various specialists and I've been extremely happy with all of them. (Up until I started working with Vision, I'd have maybe one good experience...if that...with any given contractor, then downhill from there and then I'd never put that company in touch with one of my libraries ever again.) As a bonus, in addition to doing great work, they understand that all of the public libraries in Ohio talk to each other and share experiences. So they seem to be bending over backward to stay on your good side. ;-)

At any rate, just this past Friday, Vision completed a VOIP system for one of the libraries I work with. If memory serves, aside from some network cabling, security camera systems, etc, I think this specifically might be the second VOIP phone system they've installed in a library I work with. I was actually just emailing with Tim yesterday about another library project they're interested in bidding on. So your request is very timely.

We are looking for a new phone system and would like suggestions/recommendations from other libraries. We currently have an in-house PRI system with approximately 50 lines including a few analog lines. We are open to VoIP. Any sample RFPs would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
