[OPLINTECH] Anyone currently using Laptops Anytime Automated Checkout Kiosks?

We supply and maintain the laptops and their software. Currently they are HP EliteBook 640 G9. LaptopsAnytime supplied and maintain the battery banks.

The battery banks have 5v USB type A and 110v AC outputs. I do wish they had USB type C PD with 60+W so they could charge the laptops using DC.

We separately circulate USB type C PD power adapters + cables, so a patron can check those out to use with the power bank, either with their own device or our laptop.

Do the laptops get dispensed with a charging cord? I saw that you can get a combo unit that dispenses both a laptop and a battery bank, but I couldn't see anywhere that said that you got a cord with the laptop to charge it. Also, do the laptops come with the kiosk or do you have to supply your own?

We have one at our Old Worthington Library. We first got it in 2017 at Worthington Park Library, and it had 12 laptops. In 2019 we renovated that library and the need for the laptops dwindled, so in 2022 we moved the machine to Old Worthington Library and got a refresh – it now holds 6 laptops + 12 AC battery banks. It gets a lot more use here.

Once set up, we don’t have to do a whole lot of interacting with it. The devices check out in our ILS so we can get stats and track them that way. We have Prey installed on the laptops in case they were to walk away.

Just curious if anyone out there is using Laptops Anytime Automated Checkout Kiosks? We received an email from them and I was looking through their website. I wanted to see if anyone was using them and what their experience has been with it.
