[OPLINTECH] E-Rate Updates for the New Year

Greetings,

Happy 2025!

There are several important updates that we want to share with you
regarding E-Rate:

   - *The Administrative window closes next Thursday, January 9.* Make sure
   to update your contacts, addresses, and public service square footage as
   needed before that date.
   - *Form 471 window opens Wednesday, January 15.* It will close on
   Wednesday, March 26. That means that the last day to file a Form 470 with
   the 28-day allowable contract date is Wednesday, February 26.
   - *Form 471 training dates are coming up at the end of January*; there
   will be separate dates for Category 1 and Category 2 training. You can
   register now for both or either online workshop:
   - *FY2025 E-rate Form 471 Workshop - Category 1 for Libraries - January
      28 at 1:30pm <https://events.library.ohio.gov/event/13887935>*
      - *FY2025 E-rate Form 471 Workshop - Category 2 for Libraries -
      January 30 at 1:30pm <https://events.library.ohio.gov/event/13887954>*
      - *The results of the OPLIN consortia bid for hotspots are available.
   *We are emailing our E-rate contacts with login information, or you can
   contact us at OPLIN Support if you need details.
      - As you consider your options for E-rate and hotspots, please keep
      this recent guidance from the FCC in mind
      <https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-24-1287A1.pdf>. You must
      seek a competitive bid for hotspot service or any new hotspots
that you are
      planning to purchase if you wish to use E-rate funds.
