this job? It has been posted for AGES (as far as an admin job is
concerned). Is Tusc that horrible to work for? I hadn’t heard anything to
that effect but I don’t know much about Tuscarawas County.

The Tuscarawas County Public Library has an opening for a salaried
Assistant Director. This position is responsible for library operations in
the absence of the Director; directs extension operations, in conjunction
with branch and mobile services supervisors and in alignment with the
administrative goals and objectives; participates in the hiring, training,
and evaluating of staff; ensures that staff perform duties according to
standardized procedures; implements lib​rary policies; oversees system-wide
statistics; oversees safety and security concerns for the library system
including scheduling and supervision of security guards at the Main
library; and fosters and maintains cooperative relationships within the
library system's service district, including village and township officials
in conjunction with Support Services Manager and Director.



Located in rural northeast central Ohio, the Tuscarawas County Public
Library System’s service district is 54,807 in a county with a total
population of approximately 92,500. The Tuscarawas County Public Library
System aspires to be an integral, forward-thinking component of
the Tuscarawas County community, providing customers with relevant
materials, innovative programs, and an extensive range of services that are
of the highest degree of excellence.

The main location of the library, located in New Philadelphia, has just
completed a major renovation. This includes a new drive-up window, 24/7
lockers, mobile services building, and additional meeting spaces for the
public. Each of our locations has access to Maker Space equipment that
includes 3D printers, Cricut, Virtual reality, and sewing machines.



Candidates must have an MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited institution and
5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in a library,
including supervisory experience. Salary of $50,000 annually. For a
