[SEO-Updates] For anyone using the SEO email service @seolibraries.org

[dwinland at library.ohio.gov]

We have recently received several reports of phishing emails targeting SEO member libraries that use @seolibraries.org email addresses.
While we typically receive reports of these types of attacks on a weekly or biweekly basis, the example below represents a newer variation of the phishing emails currently being circulated.
Although the message claims to be from SEO, notice the sender's email address:
installmgr at sephyr-design.com<mailto:installmgr at sephyr-design.com>
This is not a legitimate SEO email address. SEO will never send messages from unrelated domains asking you to take unexpected action.
Before responding to or clicking links in any email, always verify the sender's email address. If you are ever unsure whether an email is legitimate, please contact the SEO IT Department before taking any action.
We also want to thank everyone who forwards suspicious emails to us. Your reports help us identify new phishing campaigns and notify other member libraries as quickly as possible.
