The Philip M. Hamer and Elizabeth Hamer Kegan Award Subcommittee of the Society of American Archivists seeks nominations for the 2007 award. This award, given annually by SAA, recognizes an archivist, editor, group of individuals, or institution that has increased public awareness of a specific body of documents through compilation, transcription, exhibition, or public presentation of archives or manuscript materials for education, instructional, or other public purpose.  To be considered for the award, all nominations must be postmarked no later than February 28, 2007.  For the subcommittee to understand the entirety of the nominee’s project, please submit all relevant supporting materials.  Examples of supporting materials include books, copies of websites, exhibit information, press coverage and more. To submit a nomination, download a nomination form using the link on the Award website listed above and return it to SAA at the following address:

·         2006 The State Library and Archives of Florida’s Florida Folklife Digitization and Education Project for their use of Florida’s folklife archives to produce music, educational units, promotional material and website http://www.floridamemory.com/Collections/folklife/
·         2005 Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation for their website and online resource featuring information about the Testimony Archive of Holocaust survivors and other Holocaust witnesses, http://www.usc.edu/schools/college/vhi/ 
·         2004 The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for their book Documenting Pennsylvania’s Past: The First Century of the Pennsylvania State Archives
·         2003 The New York State Archives Partnership Trust for their quarterly publication New York Archives.
