Is your email out of control? Can you find the files you want or do you have to spend half the day searching for a file you know you saved last week? Are you looking for strategies to manage your own digital desktop that you can then take to other departments? Then Managing the Digital University Desktop is the workshop for you!

This workshop presented by the Society of American Archivists will help participants learn about the research results and related electronic records training tools from the Managing the Digital University Desktop (MDUD) project. (http://ils.unc.edu/digitaldesktop/) Discover strategies for training employees to manage e-mail and other electronic records by discussing current e-records management behavior as evidenced in MDUD research findings. Then get suggestions for ways in which training can be implemented in the college and/or university settings, and learn to utilize the FAQs, online tutorial, and PowerPoint presentations developed by project staff. We will also discuss issues related to management of active electronic records.
