Pardon the cross-posting!

Can anyone offer anecdotes or helpful suggestions on your experience
implementing centralized selection at your library? I'm at Worthington
Libraries, a two-library system that shares a catalog with a larger system
(Columbus Metropolitan). Currently all ordering at Worthington is done
manually by librarians and library associates, via a high-tech system of
routing journals through the staff and taking red ink to the titles we wish
to order. Our goal is to subscribe to one of the online centralized
selection systems such as TIPS in order to streamline the ordering process.
I was wondering if any other small- to mid-size libraries have had issues
(either positive or negative) with converting to such a centralized
selection system. I've been combing various listserv archives and have
noticed similar questions posted, but have had a hard time finding
responses. If you wish to email me off-list I will gladly post a compilation
of answers to the list!

Thank you,
Meredith Southard
