LSTA Mini-Grant Help Session

The LSTA staff will be conducting a Mini-Grant Help Session in the State
Library of Ohio Board Room on October 15, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Attendance is voluntary. Registration information must be received at the
State Library by Monday, October 13.

The Help Session is not a formal workshop. Information on what should be
included in the proposal as well as information on proposal format can be
found on the LSTA website. The help session is an interactive session where
participants may ask questions and receive guidance from LSTA staff and LSTA
reviewers. An exercise in evaluating a minigrant to judge what makes an
effective proposal will conclude the morning. Participants are encouraged
to come to the help session with a draft proposal or in-depth outline as
well as questions about their project and the LSTA process. The second part
will include an exercise in evaluating an LSTA minigrant to judge what makes
an effective (or a weak) proposal.

You may register for the help session online at http://www.slocem.lib.oh.us

Please click on SLO Events.

Mini-grant applicants should remember that individual assistance is not
limited to this help session. LSTA staff are available to answer your
questions and review drafts of your proposal. Missy Lodge, LSTA Program
Coordinator and Lisa Hickle, LSTA Fiscal Coordinator, will work with you
throughout the application period. They can be reached at 800-686-1532 or
mlodge@sloma.state.oh.us <mailto:mlodge@sloma.state.oh.us> or
lhickle@sloma.state.oh.us <mailto:lhickle@sloma.state.oh.us>

In order to give LSTA staff sufficient time to thoroughly review drafts and
for applicants to assess staff suggestions, please try to send drafts for
review by November 5, 2003. Drafts may be emailed or faxed to the State
Library. Questions will be accepted up until the time the proposal is
submitted.
