Managing Risk and Uncertainty in Libraries

Program Description:
This workshop will focus on using concepts from the field of knowledge
management, you will learn how to identify critical risks and uncertainties
in your library's environment, and you will learn how to turn uncertainty,
which is not under your control, into risk, which you can manage. Particular
emphasis will be given to developing creative, out-of-the-box thinking as a
way to identify uncertainty, risk, and their solutions. We will explore a
wide-ranging set of assumptions about libraries, library users, and the
society in which we live to see how some lead us into greater uncertainty
and others lead us toward answers to uncertainty.
