This full-time position (40 hours per week) reports to the Library =
Director=20
and includes some evening and weekend hours. The Branch Manager II =
oversees=20
the operations at the Park Shopping Center branch of the Clark County =
Public=20
Library and will be expected to establish effective communications with =

community groups, organizations and individuals, and be an active =
participant=20
in the community.

Qualifications:
Master=92s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited =
programMinimum 2=20
years public library experience=20
and=20
1-year direct supervisory experience.

Knowledge of Galaxy/Polaris automation systems a plus.

Demonstrated management skills and leadership ability. Must posses a=20
demonstrated working knowledge of reference resources and techniques;=20
including internet and electronic resources; knowledge of library =
automation=20
systems, word processing, strong written and verbal communication =
skills=20
including formal communications and public presentation; strong =
customer=20
service focus. Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and =
time=20
management skills and the ability to make independent decisions when=20
circumstances warrant. Ability to work independently and with others,=20
concentrate on a task despite frequent distractions; willingness to =
handle=20
difficult situations.

Job Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains library collections. Supervises employees =
including=20
hiring, discipline and evaluation of staff performance and identifying=20
training needs. Plans staffing and workflow of branch for above average =
public=20
service to patrons. Monitors the branch facility, initiates maintenance =
and=20
repair as necessary, and alerts administration to major problems. =
Maintains=20
awareness of current library trends and developments through =
professional=20
reading, conference attendance and organization participation. Plans, =
promotes=20
and presents youth and adult programs.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 30 lbs.; =
push=20
heavily loaded book carts and possess manual dexterity to operate =
office=20
equipment, physical agility and strength to bend and reach.

Branch hours:  Monday through Friday 10:00am to 9:00pm; Saturday 9am to =
6pm.

Salary and Benefits:  Starting salary of $31,300 is negotiable, =
depending on=20
qualifications and experience. Ohio Public Employees Retirement System=20
