The Public Programs Office of the American Library Association (ALA) and
Nextbook, "a gateway to Jewish literature, culture and ideas," are pleased
to announce a new grant opportunity for public and academic libraries, Let's
Talk About It: Jewish Literature -Identity & Imagination. Building on ALA's
renowned Let's Talk About It reading and discussion series model, Let's Talk
About It: Jewish Literature will explore Jewish literature and culture
through theme-based, scholar-led discussions at libraries across the
country. 
The ALA Public Programs Office and Nextbook invite public and academic
libraries to apply for this new grant initiative. Participating libraries
will receive a $1,500 grant, program materials, training, and other
resources to help them successfully host Let's Talk About It program at
their libraries. Libraries may apply under four grant deadlines -June 1,
2004, October 1, 2004, April 1, 2005, and September 30, 2005. Over the
course of the initiative 180 libraries will receive grants and participate
in this project.
