PAY RANGE (11):	$18.05 per hour
POSITION NUMBER:	PCN: 542.0, Classification - Librarian 2 (Technical
Svcs.) 
LOCATION:	Caldwell, OH, Noble County
HOURS OF WORK:	(40) hr. week as set by supervisor between 7:00 a.m. & 	6:00
p.m., M-F.  
	May work evenings and/or weekends - travel may be required - 
	1,000 maximum hours

JOB DUTIES (summary only):  Provides cataloging services, including creating
original catalog records, using established policies and procedures; assigns
Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal classification numbers as well as
Library of Congress subject headings; prepares bibliographic information for
entry in online databases for materials in all formats; enters appropriate
data online; corresponds with the Library of Congress regarding standards;
develops standard bibliographic entries; analyzes and makes recommendations
to improve cataloging services for State Library customers.  Creates and
maintains statistical data regarding cataloging responsibilities and
activities; attends meetings, conferences and workshops as required; keeps
current with technical services issues at the state and national level;
confers with other State Library staff to ensure a high level of cataloging
service; communicates with professional and library organizations as
necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree in Library Science from accredited
college or university; one (1) course or three (3) months experience in
library organization &/or administration; twelve (12) months experience as
catalog or serial librarian.  -Or alternative, equivalent evidence of the
Major Worker Characteristics may be substituted for the experience
requirement.
