Beth Leistensnider from Britannica.
Beth is an Ohio native and graduate of Miami University of Ohio and the 
University of Chicago. She is knowledgeable about how librarians and 
teachers use educational resources with students and adults, and has 
extensive knowledge of the Britannica databases. Beth looks forward to 
meeting librarians around Ohio and answering any questions about Britannica.


      Description:

Britannica is coming to a library near you! Come join us for an 
informative hands-on workshop to take a closer look at the new 
Britannica resources provided by OPLIN. Explore Britannica's collection 
of encyclopedias, images, multimedia and video clips, the Britannica 
Internet Guide, current magazine articles, and Spanish-language 
resources. Learn more about Britannica's special features like the 
"quick click" dictionary, world atlas, interactive timelines, and 
subject and index browse features.

See how to use Britannica databases with children and adults in your 
library. Britannica also includes teacher resources such as lesson 
plans, research projects, student activities and assignments, and more. 
Plus,we'll take an in-depth look at American history, society, and 
culture through OPLIN's collection of primary source documents from 
Britannica. Workshops will cover Britannica Online, Britannica Online 
School Edition, Enciclopedia Universal en Espaņol, and Annals of 
American History. Training materials will be provided.

Registration is limited to 16 participants

The deadline to register is Friday, November 12th, 2004
