The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce the availability of Library
Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds for Automation.
The State Library is currently soliciting automation proposals. The
Automation grant program will allow libraries which are not yet automated or
underautomated to retrospectively convert their collection and to join or
link their records to an automated library consortium. Automation projects
must demonstrate an intent to contribute to statewide resource sharing.
Proposals are due at the State Library by 4:00 p.m. March 23, 2005.
Approved proposals will run from October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.

All types of libraries (public, school, academic, special) may apply for
funding. Under the automation grant program any amount of federal
funds may be requested. A local cash match is required; the local match
must be 25% of the total project amount.

An Automation Grant help session will be held at the State Library on
January 19, 2005. Further details on the help session and registration
information will be posted in December.

The LSTA Automation Grant Request for Proposal includes criteria and
eligibility requirements, grant guidelines, and deadlines. The Request
for Proposal as well as other documents designed to assist applicants can be
found on the State Library web page, WINSLO, at
