      Description

Circulation staff face a broad variety of issues every day on the job. 
Join with your colleagues to discuss the issues and come up with the 
answers. Some of the questions to be addressed include:

--What does circulation staff do when self check out comes to your library?
--What qualifications does a person need to work the circulation desk?
--What does circulation staff do at the desk all day? (Besides checking 
items in and out,and answering phones)
--How should circulation staff be trained?
--What continuing education opportunities do you provide/offer to 
circulation staff?
--How is confidentiality handled in your library?
--How does your library notify patrons about overdue materials?
--What loan periods do you use for various materials?
--What do you require for patrons to get a library card?

This discussion will be of interest for all types of libraries.
