Microsoft Word Basics

--In this class you will learn the fundamental techniques for good word
processing, utilizing both mouse and keyboard techniques. There is a strong
emphasis on font and paragraph formatting, text editing, selection
techniques, and tab creation. In addition, the student will learn how to
reveal the format codes affecting document text. The class will wrap up with
a full discussion on printing.

Microsoft Word Intermediate

4/04/06             9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Presented by:  John Paul, Winsoft Computer Education

--This course introduces the student to various processes and tools allowing
for the creation of sophisticated working documents. The morning session
covers detailed explanations of column and table creation. In the afternoon,
students will learn how to create bulleted and numbered lists, modify the
automatic detection of errors using AutoCorrect, and store frequently used
text and graphics using AutoText. A full discussion on Mail Merge will teach
participants how to automatically input information from an existing data
source into a Word document.

Microsoft Word Advanced

Presented by:  John Paul, Winsoft Computer Education

--This class focuses on advanced document management techniques. The student
will learn how to create charts from data tables for reporting purposes.
There is a strong emphasis on the creation of Styles, which are used to
automate the formatting of large documents, and provide a basis for a table
of contents. Outline View will provide the ability to editing large blocks
of text, and to expand or collapse document detail. Other topics include
navigation with the Document Map, the creation of multiple versions within a
single file, and the tracking and reviewing of revisions made by multiple
people.

Microsoft Desktop Publishing

4/18/06             9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Presented by:  John Paul, Winsoft Computer Education

--This class focuses heavily upon the graphical capabilities of Microsoft
Word, as well as text layout. Students learn how to create AutoShapes, apply
3-dimensional formatting, utilize special effects, and create and manipulate
object groups. Object and text layers will be discussed as participants
learn to align objects, stack objects, and place images behind text to
create impressive watermarks. Using the Picture toolbar, students learn the
techniques necessary to format pictures, photographs, and scanned images.
