Registration continues for the OHIONET Annual Meeting on April 20, 2006.
Join your friends and colleagues for a day of networking, exciting
sessions, and a preview of vendor offerings.  This year's meeting offers
something for everyone.  

Location:  The University Plaza Hotel, 3100 Olentangy River Road,
Columbus, Ohio, 43202.  Driving directions and map are available online

Keynote:  Aaron Schmidt, reference librarian for the Thomas Ford
Memorial Library in Western Springs, Illinois, creator of the
walkingpaper blog, and teen services advocate, will share suggestions
for creating user-centric libraries in his morning keynote address.  In
the afternoon, Aaron will lead a discussion of podcasting and how
libraries are integrating podcasts into their service programs.

Breakout sessions:  Topics include electronic resource management,
visual searching (hear all about Grokker, Kazoo, and Google Maps), and
new technologies for self publishing from Eileen Lawrence of Alexander
Street Press.  Learn what's new with WebJunction from George Needham,
OCLC Vice President of Member Services.  If you're curious about the new
OCLC report, Perceptions of Libraries and Information Resources, OCLC's
Alane Wilson will discuss the implications of this fascinating research.
Hear how the State Library of Ohio and the state's three networks -
INFOhio, OhioLINK, and OPLIN - market their services to libraries and
the Ohio Legislature.  

Vendor Expo:  The Expo is new this year.  Meet with vendors who
participate in the OHIONET member discount program and some that are
considering joining our program.  Hear about exciting new products.
Representatives of the following companies will be on hand:  Alexander
Street Press, Better World Books, Congressional Quarterly, EBSCO, Gold
Rush, Grokker, H.W. Wilson, Library Leadership Network, MaximEyes, OCLC,
PriceMiner, ProQuest, Serials Solutions, 3M,  Taylor & Francis.
