Back to the Book returns for its seventh year. This year focuses on
trends in readers' advisory and two genres; Science Fiction, Fantasy and
The New Historical Novel.  The program will start with Readers Advisory
and the Future of Libraries and Reading with Bill Crowley, professor
Dominican University's Graduate School of Library and Information
Science.  This will be followed by Ron Antonucci, Head of Literature at
Cleveland Public Library, presenting, The New Historical Novel: An
Informal History of the Recent Past. This will look at the development
of the historical novel over the past several decades with a special
emphasis on the more "literary," non-traditional efforts and how they
differ from more novels more in the mainstream.

The day will end with Diana Tixier Herald, who will discuss Science
Fiction and Fantasy. Attendees will be conversant with sources for
tracking new releases and be aware of classics in the genre to renovate
and build the fantasy and science fiction collections in their
libraries.
